#3015 Biopsy Specimen Diagnosis in Pulmonary Carcinoids, A Shot in the Dark

Introduction: Pulmonary carcinoids (PCs) are rare well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumors, which can be separated into typical carcinoid (TC) and atypical carcinoid (AC). Advised treatment for local carcinoid disease is surgical resection using lobectomy, while parenchymal saving strategies such as sub-lobar or endobronchial resection might be considered for TC. In general, pre-operative diagnosis using a (transbronchial/transthoracic) biopsy sample is performed to demonstrate malignancy. However, TC and AC classification can solely be performed on surgical resection specimens, which may challenge pre-operative treatment decisions.

#2970 Characteristics, Treatments and Inflammatory Biomarkers in Patients (pts) with G3 Gastroenteropancreatic (GEP) Neuroendocrine Neoplasms (NENs)

Introduction: Well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumors G3 (NETsG3) pts have a different biological behavior compared to those with neuroendocrine carcinomas (NECs). Sensitivity to platinum depends on Ki67 and there is no standard second line (2L). Neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) are predictive factors of cancer survival, but with limited evidence in NENs.

Introduction: Antibody-based cancer therapies are emerging as promising therapeutics in oncology, including one in clinical trials that targets claudin-18, a protein expressed in normal gastric epithelium and some gastric adenocarcinoma. We currently have no markers for gastric well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumors (NETs).

#2683 Clinicopathological Features and Prognostic Analysis of 227 Cases with Well-Differentiated Gastric Neuroendocrine Tumors

Introduction: Gastric neuroendocrine neoplasms (g-NENs) are a group of rare tumors with a strong heterogeneity, subdivided as well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumors (NETs, type 1-3 g-NETs) and poorly-differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma(NECs). WHO classification(2019) for digestive system tumours has carried out a new classification and grading criteria for NENs of the gastrointestinal tract recently, there is very few relevant clinical data based on this new classification, especially for gastric NETs(g-NETs).
